SPICED RESTORATION BUTTER BATH

cacaobathcacaobath2This sensual, restorative bath was borne out of dire need, over the course of writing my glorious Model Chocolate!…. We all need some healing, quiet time out, at times. Times when life is just too busy with good things, or at times when we are overwhelmed with pain or discouragement. This tonic bath is everything you want right now. It will heal dry skin, sooth away stress, gently awaken energy, and make you feel like you’ve spent hours at the day spa.

20g cacao butter

1 tablespoon of each – ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg powders

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

4 drops essential oil of fennel

4 drops essential oil of basil

1 litre of goats milk

Fresh rose petals and mint, optional

Cut cacao butter into chunks. Mix together ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne and sprinkle essential oils over the top. Run a nice hot bath and pour in goat’s milk and the spicy mixture. Float rose petals and mint on top. I like to hop in before the chunks of ‘butter’ are completely melted so I can rub my elbows, knees and face with it. Lie back and enjoy for at least 30 minutes.

Fennel is detoxifying for the skin and good for digestion which always makes us feel better. Basil is excellent to improve endurance and promote stamina of body and clarity of mind. The spices are revitalising and energising, cleansing and warming.

5 minutes to prepare 1 spicy bath.

SuperTip: essential oils of basil and fennel may be exchanged for any particular ones you feel you need at the time. I personally recommend Do Terra oils, for their utterly delicious aromas and superior potency; purchase from Oil Essentials.
